Puppy Zen - Virtual Puppy School

Real time with Mark Vette

Puppy Zen Virtual Puppy School

In these extra-ordinary times we still have to care for our wee puppies and ensure they get the best start we can possibly give them. Given the limited ability to socialise your pup and with puppy schools closing down, I’m launching a virtual puppy school to run for at least two months.

There is a critical time in a puppy’s life, called the Formative Period, where training is essential as they can learn skills and social behaviours quickly and easily. Miss it, and you could have a lifetime of problem behaviours. Make the most of it, and you will have a happy lifelong bond with your pup.

We can’t change the timing of when we must lay these critical foundations down so we have to do the best we can now.

Launching Monday 30 March

If you join later all material will be available to you.

Cost $75/month (equates to $18.75/week).

This is a monthly subscription so you will be charged monthly, you can unsubscribe at any time.

Month 1 – from 30 March

The first month will be focused on laying down all the critical foundations so you create a resilient, happy pup.

  • How to housetrain your pup
  • Manage vocalisation and bite inhibition
  • Build a bomb proof bond with your pup
  • Ensure you avoid separation distress issues by teaching your pup to separate from you even when you are home all day
  • Provide work around options for the limited socialisation opportunities currently available while we are all in lockdown
  • Build resilient to noise, novelty and change
  • Create a shared language including establishing the 10 basic commands
  • Create enrichment, play and exercise options

Month 2 – May 2020

The second month (May 2020), assuming we are out of lockdown we will focus on:

  • How to catch up quickly on the socialisation parts you missed
  • How to support your pup’s transition to the big world
  • Continue establishing and proofing your pup’s training into increasing complex situations

Now more than ever it’s critical you lay down these essential foundations.

Mark will help you develop creative ways to achieve these things even as we stay in social isolation.

Come Join Mark as he too is raising two border collie puppies so you can watch in real time what Mark does when to raise a happy, bonded, stable pup.  Here’s a sneak peak of puppies at 5 weeks trained the Puppy Zen way

“I started at module 1 and I’m about half way through watching module 4. If I wasn’t writing this email I would be watching some more – I’m addicted! I’m finding the video’s really interesting and valuable and I’m looking forward to getting into the training. ”

Sharon - NZ

“Just wanted to let you know what a difference your Dog Zen programme has made to our dog Macy (and us!). We’ve been using clicker and contrast training from your videos and today we had success for the first time by turning her round and asking the other dog owners to do a “nose to tail” greet. So simple, but so effective!!”

Maree (& Ella) - Hot Water Beach, Coromandel

“Just love your videos (& can’t wait to receive your book). I look forward to watching a few videos each day and am learning so much. Thanks for putting together & sharing such brilliant techniques! .”

Rachel - Lyall Bay, Wellington

“We have found the videos very helpful and informative with our hyperactive, but beautiful border collie cross!! She has calmed down a great deal, thanks to Dog Zen!”

Pip - New Plymouth

“I think everyone should be doing this course before owning a dog! So informative into the workings of a dog’s mind. Critical to dog ownership.”

Pip - New Plymouth

“I have been watching all the Dog Zen foundation videos and learning a huge amount. We started work on the clicker on the weekend and he is making progress already on the lead, which is wonderful. I wish I had been onto this programme when he was a pup! Watching the dog language and foundation videos are really helpful to firstly know how a dogs mind works. Great and really important starting ground!”

Kerri - Whakatane

“Thank you so much for your expertise and help with training my girl. Your format is extremely easy to follow, it all makes sense and it’s been a huge help to me. She’s definitely come such a long way on a short time. “

“I found the online training programme extremely useful – interesting, well-filmed and informative. It seems to cover everything that anyone would need to know. Congratulations on a fine product”

Chloe - New Zealand

“This course has helped me much better understand canine behaviour and why they do what they do, and how to positively build those much needed relationships in order to successfully get them through their needed training. Thank you Mark Vette! Rated 5 out of 5”
